2008

TYPE: Architectural Competition
LOCATION: Karachi, Pakistan
YEAR: 2008
SIZE: 5000 m²

The design concept for the IAP house has evolved from in-depth contextual site analysis and critical discourse on sustainability, regional identity and how these tie-up with the global image of the institute of architects – Pakistan.

All functional and aesthetic aspects have been synchronized to arrive at architecture, which is environment friendly, addresses contextual realities and pertinent architectural issues such as increasing energy crisis, lack of passive climate controls, and the loss of an indigenous architectural language for Karachi, by-laws and their creative interpretation and a need for symbiotic landscape.
